Ford Focus Rear Door Lock Jammed

I have an intermittent issue with the rear passenger door on my 2009 flex limited.

The lock is jammed in the unlock position. Like something isn t initiating the latch. The child lock is not on. Just crawled in back and looked at it.

This is a safety issue because our kids can just open the rear door because you have no ability to lock the door with the child safety lock feature.
